Been Keeping Myself Busy....

Since my arrival in Brissie, there are tonnes of things for me to do. But sadly enough, I won't be able to do alot of things unless I start putting together a good list of residency documents.

I have to keep reminding myself that I'm no longer in Singapore......a place where I can easily flash my NRIC card and get almost everything done in an instant. This is Australia and you're practically non-existent if you don't at least have an Australian driver's license. And that's my problem!

From applying for driver's license to applying for my Medicare health card (essential for medical subsidies)......they all require residency documents as proof and sad to say, I don't have any......YET!

Examples of residency documents would be:
- Lease agreements
- Photographic Australian driver's license
- Electricity, gas or telephone bills in the same name
- Employment contracts
- Financial Institution cards etc.
- Security access cards
- Motor vehicle papers

Lease agreements and the Utilities bills are all under Kirk's name. So bummer!! I don't have an Australian driver's license and obviously don't have a car of my own......which clearly explains why I need to get one. I don't have an employment contract from an Australian employer. And I havent got my bank card....although I have made an application last Friday. So I'm practically SCREWED!!

I hope I can get my bank card soon. And of cos, hopefully the property agent can add my name in the lease agreement before the end of the month. I hate to be idling.....when I can actually start applying for my driving Learner's license. Been doing alot of studying for my Road Rules test...but I won't be able to take it...unless I get all my residency documents together.

I've also been keeping myself busy updating my Work Resume. Havent touched it since 2004.. so there is quite a bit of updating to do. Life's interesting......and I'm slowly but surely...trying to get out of my 'Domestic Goddess' mould. Been working from home for 9 months already.....how time flies. I lurve the flexibility of home working but I need more challenges in my life. And I think it'll do me alot of good if I start socializing with people at proper workplaces (considering this all new environment)....instead of talking with myself at home all the time.
