Suncorp Orientation Day!!

I had a day away from work today to attend Suncorp's Corporate Orientation for newbies at Suncorp Stadium. It was a full day affair but nothing beats being away from the office. Thankfully enough, I know a fellow colleague, Jason, who's attending the Orientation with me and we decided to meet each other at the train station and I stuck to him like glue throughout the day. Hehehe.

Anyways, I made a stupid remark this morning to Kirk. I asked him, "So are they holding the orientation in the field or wat??". Kirk was obviously surprised by my question and said, "Durhh, obviously NOT!! It's goin to be in one of the function rooms." Ok come on....anyone would have asked that question since the venue is at the stadium. But he was rite.....we didn't have to sit in the field...hehe.

There were loads of team activities for the 60 of us who came from all over Australia. Made frens with people from offices in Cairns, Towoomba, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast etc. There were people who left their houses at 5am and drove all the way to sunny Brissie. Thank god I stay closeby. And another great thing is that Suncorp's CEO, John Mulcahy, actually attended the session to give us his 10 cents worth.

It was also great being in an EMPTY 50,000 capacity stadium. Jason and I always looked forward to the tea breaks and lunch break cos we get to sit at the stands and enjoy the breeze and look out into space. The tour of the stadium was alrite too....we had a chance to sit in the corporate box, snoop into the changing rooms etc. But since I'm not really an Australian footy or rugby fan, I wasn't too awed by the tour unlike some other participants.

All in all, it was great fun meeting new people and making frens. I'm surely getting my social life back! Woohooo....

Here are some pics of the stadium by the way:
