What the hell is wrong with these people???

I was watching a re-run of Oprah today. In the show, Oprah interviewed a couple named Anette and Landon Pharris who were slapped with felony and misdemeanor charges for hiring a stripper for their son's 16th birthday in 2005.

I was clearly very, very, very mad abt this incident. The first thing that crossed my mind was, "What the hell is wrong with these people?". They deserve the title as 'The Stupidest Parents in the World with zero common sense".

When asked what were their motive for doing what they did...they gave a reply, which was totally unacceptable in my opinion!

As depicted on ABC News, "It is like an R-rated movie," Pharris said. "That's the way I put it. We as parents can go in and watch an R-rated movie with our children, or buy them tickets."

They described their act as "Responsible Parenting" (which I think was totally CRAP). They'd rather have their kids do those things with their supervision rather than have them do it elsewhere, which explains their decision for bringing the stripper home. What were they seriously thinking?

After being charged, Mrs Pharris even had the cheek to say: "It's a bunch of bull. I tried to do something special for my son. It didn't harm him. Even grandpa was there. Age is just a number. My son is very mature." (Taken from www.buzzle.com)

Parents are supposed to protect their own kids but NOT contribute to the delinquency of a minor!! I may not be a parent yet but come on people, isn't it basic common sense! Where have all the parental instincts gone to?

Another reason for my utmost displeasure is that the mother, Anette, didn't seem totally remorseful or have any sense of guilt during the interview with Oprah (despite shedding some tears which I thought was fake!!). Oprah was obviously pissed too.

And get this, Mr and Ms Pharris were ordered to take parenting classes. What a super Duhz!! Too late for parenting classes, isn't it???????????
