The most unplanned and spontaneous getaway that I've ever had!

I had a pretty long and super intense morning yesterday. My brain was simply exhausted after the 3 hr session!! But I'm not gonna talk abt it now. Just not yet. I hope I can tell u all abt it sumtime soon.

Anyways, it was Kirk's 31st birthday yesterday and so we decided to go to the Gold Coast for dinner after he finished work at 6pm. It took us abt an hour plus to reach our destination. I had Barramundi while Kirk had his favourite steak. After the fantabulous meal, we drove off and I seriously thought we were going back home (to Brisbane).

But my unpredictable husband decided that we wants to stay on the Gold Coast for the night instead. I was initially against the idea cos all we had were the clothes on our back. We didnt pack away any extra clothings, toiletries or etc. I just had with me a small handbag with my purse, handphone, face powder, lip gloss, camera and a few packs of tissues. I was wearing my Giordano jeans and Mango blouse. Kirk, on the other hand, only had his wallet, car keys, house keys, handkerchief and mobile phone. He was wearing a Tommy shirt and his work pants (he also had his work shirt and jacket which were left in the car). So for obvious reasons...I FREAKED OUT. We didnt prepare for this...AT ALL. I like my getaway plans be organised properly but my husband's the TOTAL opposite.

As we pondered over the idea on whether to stay on the Gold Coast or go home, Kirk chanced upon the Crowne Plaza hotel and drove in spontaneously. He told me that he would like to ask for hotel rates. So, he got out of the car (leaving me in my passenger seat..still unsure) and walked straight to the reception. From the car's side mirror, I could see him conversing with the hotel staff and it took him another 10 mins before he returned to the car. And he dropped the bomb...when he got back to the car, 'I got a room...in fact a suite for $148!". How easily did those words come out of his mouth!!! I would at least think 3 to 4 times before getting a room for that cost...

"WAT THE, U can't be serious!" That was my first reaction. He sheepishly grinned when he saw my puzzled face. He got in the car and drove into the hotel's carpark. He was obviously for REAL!!

Aparrently, in Australia, you can just flash your namecards to get Industry rates (which are normally cheaper than the usual). So since Kirk is in the hospitality industry, the hotel offered him a Suite at only $148. Usual price would be ard $200++. Great!

So we went to our Broadwater Suite...and start snapping pictures. Ok, truth is..it didnt really look like a Suite to us. Looked more like an apartment. But we were happy...especially since we got a room with 360 view of the sea and surroundings, cable tv, HUGE bathroom with a bathtub and HUGE bedroom.

Ok moving back to the clothes situation! We hoped to see bathrobes in the room so that we could wear them for the night. But sadly, the Suite didnt have any....so Kirk and I were moving ard just in our underwears (Lol....sorry..Censored). It was CRAZY ok....and I can vouch for it. Wat a 'spectacle'..the 2 of us!! We didnt have toothbrush and toothpaste too...but thankfully we managed to request for complimentary ones.

I had a long day, remember? So after fussing abt for a bit, I dozed off...at abt 9.45pm. Kirk stayed up to watch tv till 11am. The nite was nice and quiet....minus the usual road noise that have to deal with on a daily basis. It was a nice change!

And...before we left the hotel this morning, we had a spa bath. Wooohooooooooooooo!! And the views of the sea and surroundings were just fantabulous. I also enjoyed the orientation sessions...lol (our secret!)

Ok...time for some pictures. We didnt take much to begin with...but still something..better than nothing! (For more...go to http://kirkandevy.multiply.com)

Look at the water........................I wanna dip!

Getting ready for a spa bath!

He's jus boasting abt the 'Suite'!! This was before we saw the room...Hehe
