The public holiday went by so quickly. Sigh! I havent fully recovered from the impromptu getaway yet!
Yesterday, while driving back home from the Gold Coast, the husband and I were actually discussing what an ideal work week should be. We thought it would be great if governments were to allow 4-day work weeks only. Work on Monday and Tuesday...Public holiday on Wednesday...Work on Thursday and Friday....Public Holiday on Saturday and Sunday. Wouldn't that be great!
Oh well, sadly enuff..this is the reality and most people will be back to work today. Thing abt me is...it doesn't really matter at this stage whether there is an Aussie Public holiday or not. Cos as long as Singapore office is open...I'm expected to work and meet the daily deadlines. So technically, I still have to work on a public holiday in the home office while Kirk play with his X-box 360. But the work volume has decreased tremendously and so, I dun have to spend to much time in front of the PC.
I wanted to get a pair of semi-formal shoes yesterday but realised that most of the malls are CLOSED. Everywhere's CLOSED, CLOSED, CLOSED. Posibbly cos everyone wanna watch the Anzac Parade in the city. It's funny aint it?? In Singapore, all the major malls will be open on public holidays (except for Chinese New Year) simply cos there will obviously be more SALES for companies! But, I guess that's not how the Aussies are. They work hard and play hard too. Singaporeans work hard and play only if they have the time. We are sad aren't we? Foreigners always think that we dun have a life!! Singaporeans need to learn to relax a bit more, I realise (does not necessarily mean being lazy). But I dun think Singapore will be the way it is today if the people weren't as hardworking.
Oh well..enuff of bragging. I gotta finish up some work. Going to Centro Toombul later to get my shoes....(this is not a shopping spree by the way. I need the shoes badly cos my formal shoes....."fell apart"...or shd I say...started peeling like a snake's skin).
Oh oh.....as always..picture of dinner..Hehe. Lemme bore u further with the food that we ate. We had Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Chow Mien....
